What is an intervention?
An intervention is a situation where an individual is confronted in a non-threatening way about their self-destructive behaviors, such as drug or alcohol abuse. This is done with the help of loved ones and a professionally trained intervention specialist. An intervention is not always required when someone needs help with an addiction or abuse problem. Shriners for Children Medical Center
World-class specialty care
Shriners for Children Medical Center, previously known as Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles, is a specialty medical center providing comprehensive medical, surgical and rehabilitative care to children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burn scars, and cleft lip and palate. Patients receive all services in a family-centered environment, regardless of the families' ability to pay.
In 2017, Shriners Hospitals for Children — Los Angeles transitioned to Shriners for Children Medical Center, where we operate as an ambulatory surgery center. Although we have moved, our mission is still dedicated to meeting the needs of as many patients and families as possible who can benefit from the specialized services we provide. While our facility operates on an outpatient basis to serve more patients, we still offer surgeries and procedures requiring an overnight admission, at our partner hospital. Our partner facility is Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California. Our Shriners for Children Medical Center physicians perform these procedures and provide all pre-surgical and follow-up care. Shriners for Children Medical Center Ambulatory Surgery Center is accredited by The Joint Commission and has continuously earned the Gold Seal of Approval for our commitment to providing the highest quality care to children.
Our family-centered approach to care is designed to support the entire family during all phases of a child's care.

Our commitment to the community
Shriners for Children Medical Center, like the other U.S. based hospitals in the Shriners Hospitals for Children health care system, reaffirms its commitment to excellence of care through the development of its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA is a requirement for tax-exempt hospitals to engage their servicing community every three years and assess their health needs.
